AOP Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge - La Part des Anges, 2022
Red - Châteauneuf-du-Pape - Vallée du Rhône
A unique cuvée for a Châteauneuf-du-Pape, but now unmissable from the domain as Mourvèdre dominates its blend. Characterized by its aging in new barrels and demi-muids, it is precisely this feature that earned it the name 'Part des Anges' (Angel's Share)

Description
95/100 – James Suckling : "Dark, smoky and meaty, this is an explosively rich wine with tonnes of smoked bacon and spicy character. Stacks of elderberry at the seriously tannic, driving finish. An unusual cuvee of 70% mourvedre, 20% of grenache and 10% syrah. Vinified and matured in Demi-Muid casks and thereby this producer’s only Chateauneuf that is matured in oak. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Drink or hold."

Tasting NotesThis red expresses beautiful aromas of very ripe black fruits and delicate spicy notes. The tannins are silky and without any astringency due to the already very melted woodiness. An atypical, elegant and gourmet Châteauneuf-du-Pape!
-
CellaringFirst vintage in integral vinification, fermentation and aging in new demi-muids and small Stockinger tuns.
